We asked, you answered: The Tulfo-Barretto/Santiago brawl
MANILA, Philippines -- The brawl at NAIA 3 between journalist Ramon Tulfo and the party of Claudine Barretto and Raymart Santiago eclipsed the resumption of the Corona impeachment trial as this morning’s most-talked about local news issue, with netizens scouring news sites for updates and social media for on-the-scene exclusives.
The popularity of both parties led netizens to have strong opinions on the issue. Some blamed Tulfo for “going paparazzi” and trying to take photos of the actors speaking with Cebu Pacific personnel, while some said it was the celebrity couples’ fault for being overly aggressive.
Some, however, chose to laugh at the hoopla surrounding the issue, saying there are more important things people and the media should be attending to.
“Tulfo was trying to later exploit the situation, Santiago was trying to prevent him from doing so,” said @migylieminogue on Twitter.
However, @softpinkishlips tweeted, “It doesn’t mean naman na ok iyong actions ni Claudine. Kaya lang wala sanang gulo kung walang nakialam.”
Some, such as @docintubate, said they thought the issue could have been handled better. “I think they have made a mountain out of a molehill. Too much emotions and melodrama. Life is simple.”
@harchel added that the issue only blew up because “marami ang nakialam.”
