Yeng Constantino calls on youth to participate in 2010 polls
"We can make a change."
Singer-composer Yeng Constantino made this statement ahead of the "365 Days to Change...Toda Na 'To" concert at the Music Museum Monday night. Constantino is part of the concert that aims to encourage the youth to vote wisely in next year’s elections.
"Kung lahat ng kabataan ay magsasama-sama para dito at bumuo kami ng isang desisyon na ito ang move namin. Kailangan natin mag-isip. Vote wisely talaga," the 20-year-old singer told ABS-CBN News.
The grand champion of Pinoy Dream Academy Season 1 also dared the youth to change their future by participating in the elections and supporting the right candidates.
"Tataya ba tayo? Huwag nating isugal ang bayan natin. Para sa bayan natin ito, hindi ito para sa atin lang," she said.
Constantino also clarified that the concert is not campaigning for any particular candidate or political party.
"Ang gusto naming gawin ay himukin ang kabataan na magising sila. Huwag i-waste ang boto niyo. Hanggang maaari huwag na hindi bumoto. Dapat bumoto tayo at botohin natin ay 'yong deserving na kandidato," she said.
According to Constantino, she will encourage the youth to get involved through her songs.
