Two holdup men were killed by a policeman during a passenger bus heist in Quezon City, Thursday afternoon.

The Quezon City police said three armed men declared holdup while on board a JMK bus unit at the southbound land of EDSA-Kamuning around 1 p.m.

Investigators said that according to the witnesses, Inspector Christopher Obien, who was one of the 20 passengers of the bus, pulled his gun and fired at the holdup men.

The policeman killed two of the suspects during a shootout. Responding policemen, meanwhile, arrested a third suspect identified as Michael Quismo, who denied that he was with the slain robbers.

Police said the bus' inspector identified as Diosdado Garcia caught a bullet in the chest during the shootout.

Investigators have yet to determine who accidentally shot the bus inspector. With a report from radio dzMM
