Erich Gonzales has new suitor
Young star Erich Gonzales confirmed reports that her newest on-screen partner, newbie actor Xian Lim, is wooing her.
In an interview with abs-cbnNEWS.com, Gonzales said that Lim has already made his move and added that she really appreciates that someone cares for her.
"He told me naman. And through his actions, [he's sincere]. And you know, ang saya ng feeling na may nagki-care sa iyo and someone who will always be there for you," Gonzales said.
Gonzales, who will play the lead role in ABS-CBN's upcoming sexy drama series "Katorse", shared that she already told Lim that they have to focus first on their respective careers. The series stars Lim and Ejay Falcon as her leading men.
"I told him naman po na right now work muna tayo. At focus muna tayo sa work and sa studies din," added Gonzales, who is set to go back to school as a regular college student.
Gonzales said that right now they are just enjoying each other's company and said that there is no reason to rush things. "Ini-enjoy namin 'yong friendship namin. No rush. If it's gonna happen, then let's see," she said.
Asked if Lim has a good chance to be her boyfriend in the near future, she said: "Oo naman. Hindi naman siya yong guy na mahirap magustuhan."
Gonzales said that aside from enjoying things they love to do, like eating foods they both like, she and Lim also go out with other friends like Falcon.
In a separate interview with abs-cbnNEWS.com, Lim confessed that he started to woo Gonzales after they underwent workshops for their upcoming series. He said that he finds the actress "unbelievable" and cool.
"We are just going with whatever we feel inside. Sa ngayon happy po ako. Sa lahat ng nangyayari happy po talaga," Lim said.
Breaks down
Meanwhile, Gonzales has other things to focus on, including a recent tragedy in her life. The Star Circle Quest Grand Questor in 2005 broke into tears when asked about her parents during the pocket press conference of her upcoming series "Katorse."
The actress cried as she shared to entertainment press that she had found out that her father was dead. She said it has been years since she saw her father.
"Wala na po siya," Gonzales said before she burst into tears. She added: "Last year po November I got an e-mail from my tita, [ang] kapatid ng papa ko. At 'yon po sinabi sa akin na may papa passed away. May pictures, pero walang details kung ano ang ikinamatay niya."
Lim, who grew up with her mother, said that she would always remember the number 14 since she was only 14 years old when she saw her father for the first and last time.
She said what hurt her most was the thought that there would still be a time for them to meet again and spend time together.
"Nakakagulat lang kasi I'm expecting na maybe magkaroon pa din kami ng chance na magkasama ganoon," Gonzales said.
Gonzales, a member of Star Magic, takes a big step in her career as she stars in "Katorse". The series is a TV remake of Joey Giosiengfao's 80's film of the same title that launched the career of then newbie actress Dina Bonnevie.
