Police killed three suspected members of a robbery group in a shootout in Quezon City, Saturday noon.

Senior Superintendent Alex Sintin, Quezon City police Station 3 commander, identified two of the slain suspects as Ernesto Pueblo of Quiapo, Manila and Eugene Poblacion of Parañaque City.

Sintin said the three were killed by police in a shootout along Road 20 in Project 8 around noon.

He said roving policemen spotted the three while in the act of robbing the Road 20 Construction Supply.

Two other suspects, who acted as lookouts for the group, escaped on board a motorcycle, he said.

Sintin said his station has been on the lookout for the suspects because of the series of robberies in the area.

"Prior to this, marami tayong sunud-sunod na robbery sa area natin involving motorcycle-riding criminals. I ordered a massive manhunt and our policemen spotted them," he said. With a report from Alex Calda, radio dzMM
