(UPDATE 4) 21 dead in Maguindanao poll-related violence
as of 11/23/2009 9:45 PMMANILA - Bodies of 21 kidnap victims, including the wife and relatives of Buluan town's vice mayor, were recovered by government troops in Ampatuan town in Maguindanao province Monday afternoon.
The killings are the first reported poll-related violence. The May 2010 elections are still 6 months away. Most of the victims are women.
Issued At: 5:00 p.m., 23 November 2009At 4:00 p.m. today, Tropical Depression "URDUJA" was estimated based on satellite and surface data at 170 kms East of Surigao City (9.7°N, 127.1°E) with maximum winds of 55 kph near the center. It is forecast to move West Northwest slowly. Northeast Monsoon affecting Northern Luzon.
