MANILA, Philippines - Broadcast journalist Ricky Carandang on Friday bid farewell to the long-running business show "Business Nightly" as he prepares to anchor a new show on ANC, the ABS-CBN News Channel.

In his last show as Business Nightly anchor, Carandang likened himself to comedian Conan O'Brien and said: "Apparently, Jay Leno wasn't doing so well in his new time slot and he's asked for his old show back."

News anchor Maiki Oreta will be taking over Business Nightly while Carandang, together with seasoned broadcast journalist Ces Drilon, will be anchoring "The Rundown" on ANC starting March 1 at 8 p.m.

The new show kicks off ANC’s new programming this year as the channel offers more premium content to its viewers.

“We would like to provide more for the Filipino, wherever he is,” said Glenda Gloria, ANC’s chief operating officer.

two of the best

For me Ricky Carandang and Maiki Oreta are two of the best anchors you have in ANC. They speak well, good grammar, good diction, clear...hope you guys move on! God bless!

Wow, Maiki's promoted :)

I've got a huge crush on her. Hope she does well on Business Nightly.

And again, congrats to Cesky. I want to see how different "The Rundown" would be from other news programs.
