Bangsamoro can learn from Spain on autonomy
MANILA, Philippines - The Philippines and its proposed Bangsamoro region can look up to Spain on autonomous governance, Muntinlupa Rep. Rodolfo Biazon said Monday.
Biazon was part of the Philippine delegation that went to Navarra, Spain for a study tour ahead of the resumption of peace talks with the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF),
He told ANC Prime Time that the Philippine government will study Spain's autonomous regions "to see what can work for the Bangsamoro."
Governance is highly decentralized in Spain -- a country which has been called "a state of autonomies."
In Spain, 17 autonomous communities and 2 cities that also have their own police forces are actively practicing self-governance. - ANC, Prime Time, November 12, 2012
