I will put up a compensatory fund which will provide shelter, food and livelihood assistance to enable the estimated 30,000 internally displaced families to return to their homes.

January 30, 2012: Schools that are used temporarily as evacuation centers are going to be vacated soon by internally displaced persons as they will be transferred to transitional tents starting on the second week of February. This was announced by Secretary Corazon Juliano-Soliman of the Department of Social Welfare and Development to the internally displaced families staying in West City Central School and City Central School, this city, both of which have the highest number of evacuees.
