Peso opens stronger on 1st trading day

The peso opened stronger at 47.30 to the US dollar on the first trading day of the year, up from its previous 47.52:$ close last December 24.

The local currency was trading between P47.45 and P47.26.

Local markets opened for the first trading day Monday after an 11-day holiday break.
