Incheon airport operator tapped as NAIA-3 consultant

MANILA, Philippines - South Korea's Incheon International Airport Corp. (IIAC) won the P67-million contract to provide consulting services for Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 3. 

The Department of Transportation and Communications' Bid and Awards Committee has awarded the contract to IIAC, which operates South Korea's main gateway. 

Transportation Undersecretary Jose Lotilla sent the notice of award sent to IIAC executive director Ki-Beom Yang. 

The IIAC had previously won the consulting contract for the development of the Puerto Princesa International Airport in Palawan last year. 

Incheon International Airport has reaped numerous awards as the world's best airport. 

Travel magazine Global Traveler gave Incheon the World’s Best Airport Award for 7 straight years, besting Singapore's Changi Airport, and Munich Airport in Germany. It also won the Airports Council International Service Quality Award for 7 consecutive years.

Incheon is also known as the airport where Louis Vuitton opened its first duty-free store.
