MANILA, Philippines - Shares zoomed to a new high on Friday, with the Philippine Stock Exchange index gaining 1.10% or 67.03 points to 6,139.21.

The broader all-shares index, meanwhile, climbed 0.86% or 32.94 points to 3,862.41.

All sub-indices were in the green on Friday, led by the services sector which went up 2.29% or 41.44 points to 1,854.05 and holding firms which grew 1.68% or 89.84 points to 5,455.01.

Mining and oil companies jumped 1.54% or 334.05 points to 22,057.90, while industrial firms gained 0.25% or 23 points to 9,204.51.

Financial institutions increased 0.23% or 3.66 points to 1,583.14, while property companies climbed 0.18% or 4.26 points to 2,417.39.

Advancers outnumbered decliners 103 to 60, while 48 were unchanged.

Top gainers on Friday were LMG Chemicals Corp. (27.72%), Forum Pacific, Inc. (7.80%), and Sta. Lucia Land, Inc. (6.85%).
