Spain keen on investing in PH airports
MANILA, Philippines - Spain is bullish on the prospect of investing in the development of airports in the Philippines.
Spanish and Philippine government representatives and business executives attended a high level dialogue at the 6th Tribuna Espana-Filipinas. The session "Investing on Runways to Progress" was attended by Transportation Undersecretary Jose Lotilla, Ayala Corp. director Eric Francia, GETINZA CEO Pedro Gomez of GETINZA and APR Regional Director Alberto Fernandez of INECO.
Spanish officials said they were impressed by the improved Philippine business environment.
"What surfaced from this conversation with regard to partnerships in the development of the airport industry is that they (Spanish) have seen a major change in the last seven years on how to deal with the government, which is more transparent and business friendly,” Chaco Molina, spokesperson of the Tribuna Espana-Filipinas said in a statement.
Molina said Spanish officials noticed the "stress free" business environment here, which is expected to attract more investors.
With the development of more airports in the country, it is hoped that there will be improved connection between the Philippines and Spain.
