Cebu Pacific increases flights for summer season

MANILA, Philippines - Budget carrier Cebu Pacific is mounting additional flights to a number of domestic and international destinations to accommodate an expected surge in passengers during the summer months.

The Gokongwei airline said it will now be flying between Manila and Tagbilaran 12 times a week starting March 11.

The following are the increased frequencies starting March 31:
- 33 weekly flights for Manila-Tacloban service
- seven daily flights for Manila-Bacolod
- six daily flights for Manila-Kalibo

Meanwhile, the following are the expanded services for various destinations starting April 2:

- 15 daily flights for Manila-Cebu
- 10 daily flights for Manila-Davao
- three daily flights for Cebu-Bacolod
- 23 times a week for Cebu-Boracay
- four daily flights for Cebu-Davao
- 10 times a week for Cebu-General Santos
- five times a week for Cebu-Legazpi
- twice daily for Cebu-Puerto Princesa
- six times a week for Cebu-Siargao

For international destinations, Cebu Pacific will be mounting five daily flights on its Manila-Singapore route starting March 23, and 12 weekly flights on the Manila-Bangkok service starting April 1.

"These flight frequency increases are in line with brand-new A320 aircraft deliveries in January and March, the first two of seven aircraft arriving this year," Candice Iyog, vice president for marketing and distribution at Cebu Pacific, said in the statement.

Cebu Pacific carried 13.26 million passengers last year, 11% more than the 11.93 million in 2011. The airline is set to launch flights between Manila and Bali on March 16, and between Manila and Dubai on October 7.
