BIR exceeds Feb goal

MANILA, Philippines- The Philippines' main tax agency likely exceeded its February tax collection goal by P3.4 billion pesos ($74 million), the finance minister said on Wednesday.
"These are very preliminary numbers," Margarito Teves told reporters.
The Internal Revenue chief clarified the overshoot was for its operational goal of P41.435 billion for the month, not including interest income from Treasury operations.
