MANILA, Philippines - Ford Philippines reported its overall retail sales surged 108% year-on-year to 865 units in February, driven by strong demand.

“We’re off to a very strong start to the year, as customers continue to respond positively to our full lineup of Ford vehicles,” said Randy Krieger, Ford Philippines president, in a statement.

The all-new Ford Ranger was the best-selling vehicle in February, with 251 units sold. Ford is set to expand its Ranger lineup in the Philippines with the launch of the all-new Ford Ranger Wildtrak at the Manila International Auto Show next month.

Ford also saw strong sales of its SUVs, with the Ford Everest family SUV reporting retail sales of 191 units, and Ford Explorer with retail sales of 64 units. Ford's Focus and Mustang also saw strong sales in February.

"So many new-to-Ford customers are appreciating our focus on the fuel efficiency, smart technology, quality and safety of our vehicles, which we’re supporting with an ongoing commitment to providing the very best Ford customer experience," Krieger said.

Ford is set to open new dealerships in Bohol, General Santos, Laoag, Zamboanga, Manila Bay and Baguio, expanding its nationwide network to 35 by the middle of the year.
