Lucio Tan-led real estate firm lines up 8 new projects

MANILA, Philippines - Lucio Tan-led Eton Properties Philippines Inc. has lined up 8 new projects this year to take advantage of the sustained strong demand in the market.

In an interview with reporters, Eton president Danilo Ignacio said 4 new residential projects will be unveiled this year, along with 3 commercial projects and one office development.

Ignacio declined to disclose the overall construction cost.

The residential projects are the 40-storey Eton Tower Makati at the corner of V.A. Rufino and Dela Rosa Streets in Makati City; the 5.2-hectare West Wing Villa, a townhouse development in Novaliches, Quezon city; the mini-eclave in the South Lake Village of Eton City in Sta. Rosa, Laguna; and a condominium within the 12-hectare Eton Centris at the corner of EDSA and Quezon Avenue.

Meanwhile, the commercial projects include a lifestyle and commercial strip along the company's 68 Roces project in Quezon City, a special events venue within Eton Centris, and a set of commercial lots within Eton City.

Ignacio said Eton is putting up a second office building in Eton Centris that will accommodate business process outsourcing companies expanding their operations in the Philippines.

"The year 2010 is seen to be a very good year for the real estate industry with the holding of national elections that is, hopefully, peaceful and orderly. History has shown that the economic growth immediately following all post martial law nation elections," he said.

Eton currently has 28 real estate projects.
