MANILA, Philippines – A veteran in the showbiz industry, Kapamilya star Toni Gonzaga said she has learned how to manage her finances through saving and investing.

Gonzaga started her showbiz career when she was only a teenager, managed by her parents Carlito and Crisanta.

Now 30, Gonzaga said she has made it a point to put aside money from her earnings in the entertainment industry.

“I’ve learned how to save and I’ve worked so hard for the money that I’ve been earning. I think it’s very important for people to learn how to save and value money, the importance of saving up for the rainy days, especially when you work so hard for the money that you’ve earned,” she told ANC’s “On The Money.”

Gonzaga’s latest film, “Starting Over Again,” made more than P400 million and is among the highest grossing Philippine films of all time.

Gonzaga is also recording a new album under Star Records and is set to host a new season of reality TV show “Pinoy Big Brother.”

Amid all her success, she said she is able to manage her earnings through lessons she learned from her mother.

“One thing that my mom taught me is not to put all of your savings in one bank. You should try to divide it in different banks because if something happens, just in case, they will only give you a percentage of what you deposited. Try to spread out your money,” said Gonzaga.

“I do a lot of investments, with lots and some properties, and sometimes in the bank you do time deposit,” she added.

The multi-talented actress, host, and singer also said she wants to add one more title to her already impressive résumé: producer.

“I’d like to try producing films in the future, that’s something that I got very interested in while I was doing an indie movie and I was able to chance upon how it was done, how it works, because I always work in front of the camera so I’m very curious how it feels to work behind the scenes,” she said.
