MANILA, Philippines – The Public-Private Partnership Center of the Philippines (PPP Center) has granted funding support for the feasibility study of the Clark Green City Food Processing Terminal Project, the Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA) said Thursday.

The food processing terminal in Clark Green City is envisioned by BCDA president Arnel Casanova as a “stock exchange” of fresh agricultural produce and processed products that will ensure the food security and nourishment of the residents in the area.

Casanova said the project requires the establishment and operations of the private sector for processing, handling, storage, and distribution of agri-fishery products utilizing integrated research and development technology.

The PPP Center’s Project Development and Monitoring Facility (PDMF) committee approved the funding, which will facilitate hiring consultants who will prepare the feasibility study for the food processing terminal and provide transaction support services during the PPP project approval and bidding stages.

Socioeconomic Planning Secretary Arsenio Balisacan earlier said the food processing terminal will promote social inclusivity by ensuring sufficient and better quality of food not only within Clark Green City, but also beyond the project area.

The food processing terminal in Clark is also seen to revive operations that were halted in the Food Terminal Inc. (FTI) complex in Bicutan.
