MANILA - Malacanang issued Executive Order 819 scrapping the current 5% tariff on imported cement for 6 months.
Press secretary Cerge Remonde told reporters Friday government will study the effects of the decision on the local market.
Included in the order are the following types of cement: portland cement, aluminous cement, slag cement, supersulphate cement, and similar hydraulic cement.
The government also scrapped cement tariffs last November for 6 months.
