PNB president goes on indefinite sick leave
MANILA, Philippines - Philippine National Bank (PNB) said its president and chief executive officer Carlos A. Pedrosa will go on an indefinite sick leave.
In a disclosure to the stock exchange, PNB said its board of directors designated Omar Byron T. Mier as acting president during Pedrosa's leave. PNB did not give the reason for Pedrosa's leave of absence.
Mier had previously served as president, CEO and chief credit officer of PNB until May 24, 2010.
Pedrosa was appointed as president and CEO of PNB in July last year, replacing Eugene Acevedo. He was president of First e-Bank, and served as director of United Coconut Planters Bank and Metrobank.
