Thailand holds Philippine road show
MANILA, Philippines - Thailand is hoping to attract Filipino businessmen, as it holds a road show in Manila on Thursday (July 19).
A business forum "Thailand International Exhibition, Business Success for ASEAN" will be held at the Dusit Thani Hotel, Makati City.
Organized by the Thailand Convention and Exhibition Bureau (TCEB), the road show will showcase Thailand's platform as a gateway for business opportunities in the ASEAN market, and as a vibrant market for key industries and international products and services.
The business forum will also provide information on trading and business matching opportunities between Thailand’s private sector and Philippine companies and trade associations.
The Philippines is considered one of the priority countries for Thailand because of the long-established trade relations and growing trade volume between the two countries, which amounted to $7.34 billion in 2011.
Filipino visitors also accounted for 7.5% of total overseas visitors to Thailand’s exhibitions in 2011, ranking 5th.
"With a population of approximately 600 million people, the region has a massive $1.9 trillion economy. The integration of the ASEAN economic community in 2015 will make ASEAN more attractive, with a market larger than the EU in terms of population," said Supawan Teerarat TCEB exhibition director.
