DoF goes after PNCC for 'illegal' toll collections

MANILA, Philippines - The Department of Finance (DoF) is going after the Philippine National Construction Corp. (PNCC) for billions of pesos in toll collected illegally from motorists plying the South Luzon Expressway (SLEx).
Finance Secretary Cesar Purisima said the PNCC"s franchise to run SLEx expired in May 2007. This means all the toll fees it has been collecting ever since must be remitted to the government in full.
Former presidential economic adviser Albay Governor Joey Salceda agreed with the DoF's assessment.
Based on his own estimate, Salceda said the PNCC owes the government at least P7.5 billion. - Report from ANC

What the PNCC is doing is clearly anti-citizen and illegal. P.Noy should put a stop to this immediately!
