Treasury eyes retail bonds sale in August

MANILA, Philippines  - The  Bureau of Treasury may sell less than P100 billion pesos ($2.2 billion) worth of retail treasury bonds in August, the National Treasurer said on Monday.
 

Roberto Tan also told reporters the government has received proposals for peso and dollar bond swaps.
 

"I don't think we need that much cash," Tan said when asked if the government was looking to raise P100 billion from the retail bond offer, adding the Treasury received a proposal for a 10-year retail issue.
