DTI asks supermarkets to set up bulk buying centers
MANILA, Philippines - The Department of Trade and Industry is asking supermarkets to set up bulk buying centers to cater to those buying relief goods for flood victims.
Manufacturers are also instructed to open their warehouses for bulk purchases of bread, noodles and sardines.
Meanwhile, food manufacturers want an automatic exemption from the number-coding and truck ban during calamities to ensure unhampered delivery of food.
The DTI will also set up a website to inform the public about disaster preparedness.
