MANILA - The Philippines' production of unmilled rice was forecast to rise 3.77% to 17.45 million tons in 2009, supported by increased cropland and better yield, according to government estimates issued on Tuesday.

Corn production was expected to increase 2.26% to 7.09 million tons, the Bureau of Agricultural Statistics said on its Web site (www.bas.gov.ph).
