Globe sees continued growth in broadband business
MANILA, Philippines - Globe Telecom recorded a double-digit growth in revenues and subscriber base, led by its broadband brand Tattoo, during the first half of 2013.
Tattoo subscribers grew to 1.8 billion as of end-June this year, 15% higher than last year's levels, helping maintain Globe's upward momentum of a 25% increase in topline.
Service revenues also posted a 25% increase from the P4.106 billion, year-on-year.
According to Globe, the upsurge in broadband revenues was fueled by the "healthy demand for both wireless and wired broadband offerings and was mainly due to the continuous growth in subscriber base from both Tattoo-At-Home and Tattoo nomadic broadband."
"With the Globe network vastly improving with its modernized infrastructure, we expect the Tattoo brand to be continuously embraced by more Filipinos as their broadband of choice,” said Gilbert Simpao, head of consumer broadband business for Globe.
