3 oil firms announce price hikes

MANILA, Philippines - Three oil firms on Monday evening announced P0.50 per liter increase in the pump prices of their oil products starting Tuesday early morning.

Eastern Petroleum said it will increase prices of gasoline, diesel and kerosene products by 12:01 a.m. Tuesday.

Seaoil Philippines, meanwhile, said it will increase prices of gasoline, diesel and kerosene effective 6 a.m. Tuesday.

Petron Corp. will also increase the prices of its gasoline, diesel, and kerosene products also by 6 a.m. Tuesday.

The local oil giant also announced that it will implement a P1 per kilogram (Value-Added Tax excluded) increase in the prices of its liquefied petroleum gas products.

Seaoil and Petron both said their respective price hikes are “to reflect movements in the international oil market.” From reports of Alvin Elchico, ABS-CBN News
