Google PH offers services to help SMEs
MANILA, Philippines - Google Philippines launched a new initiative that would allow small to medium enterprises (SME) to "compete, be found and succeed."
The AdWords Premier SME Partnership Program, designed to bring digital marketing to more Filipino SMEs, fosters a network of partners dedicated to providing specialized services to help SMEs grow.
According to Google Philippines, only a small fraction of the SMEs in the country are taking advantage of the 35 million internet users and over 88% of smartphone owners that search the web for products and services.
“More Filipinos are coming online and they’re turning to the web to meet their business needs. Digital is not a future trend: it’s happening today and SMEs need to catch up to their customers,” said Narciso Reyes, country manager for Google Philippines.
“SMEs contribute hugely to the economy, and we’re glad to launch this program to help more of those businesses to benefit from a direct engagement with Google’s partners,” he added.
Google Philippines, as part of their launch, also announced their latest partners, The Directories Philippines Corporation (DPC) and internet-marketing provider Activa Media.
“The Yellow Pages has had an online presence for 14 years now. Over the last decade, we've expanded our presence across the mobile and social media space as well. This goes to show how businesses can evolve in sync with technological changes in the marketplace," Domingo Angelo Lopez, vice president for product development at DPC.
Activa Media director for regional business development Vincent Teo said, "the internet is changing the landscape of how customers find businesses."
"We have well-trained teams, and with the support from Google, we are able to reinforce our message to SMEs that no one works harder to help grow their business than the Yellow Pages,” he added.
Google Philippines has already started working with DPC and Activa Media to help them ramp up their sales force through training programs, and will provide these partners with dedicated marketing and sales support, such as co-branded marketing collateral, market research, and training.
The program will also be providing technical and operational support, assigned account manager and joint promotions, and joint sales pitches.
