Palace: EDSA subway still has long way to go
MANILA, Philippines - Malacañang said the proposal to build a subway along EDSA still has to undergo a feasibility study and has not yet been approved by the President.
"Wala pa 'yan… hindi pa 'yan aabot sa NEDA board, hindi pa 'yan aabot sa ICC (Investment Coordination Committee) kung wala pa 'yung first step, 'yung feasibility study," deputy presidential spokesperson Abigail Valte said.
Transportation Secretary Jun Abaya on Tuesday said the government is preparing to conduct a study on the feasibility of a subway system along EDSA.
However, netizens were critical of the proposal, saying the government should fix the existing MRT and LRT systems, as well as address the perennial flooding in the metropolis.
