McDonald's franchisee is top resto taxpayer in Pasay
MANILA, Philippines - A McDonald's franchisee topped the 2011 list of restaurant taxpayers in Pasay City, the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) said.
In its latest Tax Watch ad, the BIR said McPhilip Food Industries Inc., a McDonald's franchisee, paid P4.93 million in income taxes in 2011.
The Top 20 list of restaurant taxpayers in Pasay also included several fast food franchisees - PCK-N3 Inc., a Pancake House franchisee, ranked 12th with P458,903 in taxes; Hansway Bros Food Corp., a Jollibee franchisee, ranked 14th with P393,407 in taxes; and Happy Smiles Inc., a Teriyaki Boy franchisee, ranked 19th with P280,814 in taxes.
Meanwhile, Masuma Food Industry, the commissary plant of Conti's pastry shop and restaurant, topped the list of 2011 restaurant taxpayers in Taguig and Pateros. It paid P3.31 million in income taxes.
In second place is Heavenly Urban Chef Inc., an industrial caterer, with P2.39 million in income taxes.
The McDonald's branch in Market! Market! mall ranked third, with P1.96 million in taxes.
Ranked fourth and firth are Culinary Experience with P827,769 in taxes and Conti's Pastryshop and restaurant with P755,066 in taxes.
Belarsen Foods Corp., a Jollibee franchisee, was in 9th place with P476,786 in taxes.
If some restaurants with branches in Pasay, Taguig and Pateros are missing from the list, it may be because they have head offices in other cities, where they pay taxes.
