DOE to ensure power supply for barangay polls
MANILA, Philippines - The Department of Energy (DOE) urged energy agencies and the electric power industry to ensure there is stable and continuous power supply for the upcoming barangay polls.
The DOE wants to ensure there is enough power supply seven days before and after the October 28 elections (between October 21 and November 4).
The DOE called on the National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP), National Electrification Administration (NEA), National Power Corporation and its Small Utilities Group (NPC-SPUG), Power Sector Assets and Liabilities Management Corp. (PSALM), power generation companies, and distribution utilities to support the government's efforts for a successful election.
The DOE circular stated the energy agencies and power industry players are required to submit accurate hourly reports on the power situation on election day.
Power Updates will be available to the public through the DOE’s Twitter account (@DOE_PH) and the DOE website.
