SSS opens temporary offices in Cebu, Bohol
MANILA, Philippines – Social Security System (SSS) has set up temporary satellite offices in Cebu and Bohol for safety reasons as its branches undergo structural evaluations following the 7.2 magnitude earthquake.
Temporary satellite offices were opened at the Gaisano Fiesta Mall in Tabunok, Talisay City, Gaisano Island Mall in Lapu-Lapu City, Talisay City Hall and the DTI-National Economic Research and Business Assistance Center (NERBAC) in Cebu City.
Meanwhile, business hours of the SSS Service Office at Robinsons Fuente Mall along Osmeña Boulevard will be extended during the weekend to accommodate members on October 19 and 20.
In Bohol, temporary satellite offices were opened at the Agricultural Promotional Center (APC) near the City Hall, and at the Governor's Mansion along CPG Avenue.
The SSS servicing branch in Tagbilaran City remains closed for business.
SSS officer-in-charge Edgar Solilapsi said a number of branch personnel have been deployed to the satellite offices to accept a transactions.
"While the SSS Cebu branch is partially open for limited services such as answering queries and forms issuance, it would be best for members in the affected areas to instead visit the satellite offices for their SSS concerns," Solilapsi said.
He added that the SSS is doing its best to provide “uninterrupted service delivery.”
Solilapsi said SSS branches in Toledo, Lapu-Lapu and Bogo in Cebu continue to operate normally.
The Mandaue branch is also open and will remain open for transactions on October 19 (Saturday) to accommodate transactions of calamity relief package for earthquake-hit members and pensioners.
