P18.5-B budget for Laguna de Bay rehab OKd
MANILA - The board of the National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA) has approved a budget of P18.5 billion for the rehabilitation of Laguna de Bay.
Of the amount, the country will source P15.3 billion from the Belgian government's Super Subsidy Facility. Commercial loans from Belgian banks based on partial prepayment guarantees offered by the Belgian Export Credit Agency will be tapped for the remaining P3.2 billion.
The project, which aims to resolve flooding problems in Rizal and Laguna province, involves the dredging of the Laguna lake navigational lane and the entire 8-kilometer stretch of the Napindan channel.
It also includes the development of transport systems and service repair centers. Specifically, the program targets to build 12 ferry stations in several sites.
Aside from this, the project aims to reclaim 5 lakeshore areas for wastewater treatment facilities and to put up 4 sewage treatment plants.
The Laguna de Bay rehabilitation project is set to be implemented from 2010 to 2012.
Earlier, NEDA's Investment Coordination Committee approved the P3.27-billion increase in the budget for the reconstruction of the Panglao airport in Bohol province.
From P4.27 billion, the project now has a budget of P7.54 billion.

Stop Corruption
Mga corrupt na politicians...maawa na po kayo sa mga maliliit na tao na nasalanta ng bagyo..isipin ninyo ilan buwan bago humupa ang baha sa mga lugar ng kinatatayuan ng bahay nila...ang mga bata na nagkasakit dahil sa dulot ng maduming tubig baha...please lang po..huwag na ninyong pag interesahan pa ang pera para sa project na ito...Dapat munang tanggalin si Edgar Mande...dapat noon pa niya naisipang gawin itong project na ito..pero nga kasali siya sa grupo ng corrupt political system sa bansa..kaya instead na gumawa ng project pagnanakaw ang inatupag nilang lahat...Ang mga corrupt officials sana makarma kayong lahat...kasama na ang buong pamilya ninyo na ngayon ay masayang ginagastos ang nakaw na pera..
Sana din po ang mga Pilipino magbago na at huwag mag paapi...itong mga corrupt politicians ay tanggalin sa pwesto at bitayin on the spot dahil walang justice sa Pilipinas...ang justice ay para lang sa mga mayayaman at politicians...

I hope the money will be spent for the project only because this will definitely improve a lot in our kababayans' way of life in the area. Mga corrupt na officials who might want to take a piece of it, go to hell!!
