MANILA, Philippines - Airphil Express (APX) expects its A320 flight services to be back to normal as of November 1.

Over the weekend of October 30 and 31, APX saw some disruptions in its A320 flight schedules and expressed regret for the inconvenience experienced by affected passengers.

Though their regular frequency of flights were reduced, major A320 destinations out of Manila to Cebu, Iloilo, Bacolod, Puerto Princesa, Cagayan de Oro and Davao were served despite the reduced frequency.

Maria Java, Airphil vice-president for marketing and media, said APX launched 3 more new flights each on both October 30 and 31 to consolidate affected passengers.

Java said that throughout the weekend, passengers on the cancelled flights were either rescheduled for later APX flights or  reallocated to the newly opened flights.  Thus  Iloilo, Cagayan de oro and Cebu saw additional flights mounted to carry affected passengers later in the day.

"Only  A320 routes were affected.  All other flights on our Turbo prop routes using their Bombardier Q300 and Q400 fleet all remained normal and on schedule," she said in a statement.

Further, additional Airphil Express flights were also mounted using Q300 and Q400 aircraft to supplement the affected A320 routes.

Java said all flights are expected to resume normal operations as of November 1, 2010.
