Tapa King taps 2GO for VisMin deliveries
Filipino food chain Tapa King has enlisted supply chain company 2GO to deliver its products to Visayas and Mindanao outlets.
Tapa King's famous tapa, liempo and bangus--considered as "wet" or perishable goods--need to be transported through a cold chain service to maintain quality.
Pablo "Jon" Hicban, Tapa King operations manager, said they have piloted 2GO's cold chain service in Cebu and they were satisfied with the results.
"The items arrive in the destination in very good condition," Hicban said.
Tapa Kind said it is exploring the same services from 2GO for its operations in Davao, Bacolod and Cagayan.
A "hole in the wall" operations that started in June 1987, Tapa King has since grown to 10 company owned stores and 23 franchises nationwide.
Meanwhile, 2GO's cold chain service is coursed through partner Cryo company's unit, Reefer Van Specialist Inc. Cryo, which has been in the refrigerated transport business since 1982, and 2GO has been targetting small and medium companies that need to ship small items, or those that will not fill an entire 40-foot container. These small items, including vegetables and ice cream, just need to fill a minimum requirement of 0.5 cubic meters.
