MANILA, Philippines - The Philippine Stock Exchange index (PSEi) on Wednesday ended its seven-day streak of reaching record highs, only a day after breaking into the 5,700-level.
The PSEi shed 0.33% or 18.56 points to close at 5,687.72, while the broader all shares index lost 0.19% or 6.82 points to finish at 3,669.71.
The index broke into 5,700-territory on Tuesday, marking its 34th record close this year.
On Wednesday, all sub-indices were in the red except for financial firms, which climbed 0.39% or 5.87 points to close at 1,527.86.
Industrial companies lost 0.62% or 55.02 points to 8,819.55, while holding firms shed 0.60% or 29.86 points to 4,987.22.
Property companies, meanwhile, went down by 0.53% or 11.71 points to 2,195.24, and mining and oil firms fell 0.11% or 19.67 points to 17,991.22.
The services sector also shed 0.07% or 1.29 points to 1,720.02.
