DOTC to open bids for single ticketing system on Monday
MANILA – The Department of Transportation and Communications (DOTC) is set to open the financial proposals of bidders for the P1.7 billion single ticketing system for the Light Rail Transit (LRT) and Metro Rail Transit (MRT) systems by Monday, December 9.
DOTC spokesperson Michael Arthur Sagcal said it expects to finish all technical evaluation by this week.
“We are fast-tracking the technical evaluation. We expect to finish it by the end of this week so we can open the financial proposals by Monday,” he said on Thursday.
It hopes to complete the financial evaluation in the next couple of weeks, award the contract by February 2014, and begin operations by third quarter of 2015.
Last November 18, five groups submitted bids for the project, namely Ayala-Metro Pacific, SM Consortium, ComWorks, Inc. group, Megawide-Suyen-Eurolink Consortium, and the E-Trans Solutions Joint Venture, Inc.
“The bidders’ proposals must be able to demonstrate the ability to satisfy our project criteria through a sound and viable technical solution…The best interests of the commuter are always at the forefront of our minds,” said Sagcal.
