Two Splash products exceed P1B sales target
Two major brands from listed beauty and personal care giant Splash Corp. have surpassed the P1-billion mark in terms of sales.
In a statement, Splash said SkinWhite accomplished the P1-billion feat as early as October. Maxi-Peel, on the other hand, reached the target last month.
SkinWhite and Maxi-Peel are the company's frontliners. According to AC Nielsen's September 2008 report, SkinWhite captured 27 percent and 43 percent of the market with its whitening lotions and whitening soaps, respectively.
Maxi-Peel, on the other hand, cornered a lion's share of the market after breaking existing norms in liquid beauty products with its exfoliants. This year, Splash added more variants to its exfoliant solution with the introduction of creams, soaps, and lotions, which were particularly strong in the C and D markets.
"The stellar sales performance of both SkinWhite and Maxi-Peel assures Splash of an even stronger net profit at the end of this year," Splash said.
Splash posted a net income of P271.2 million at the end of 2007.
At present, Splash products are sold in 1,032 outlets of leading groceries and supermarkets, with 23 third-party distributors serving 26,102 retail outlets.
The company's products are exported to 25 countries across the African, Asian, and North American continents, contributing to 15 percent of net sales. It continues to expand its international operations with the signing of distribution agreements with companies in the United States, Malaysia, Brazil, Hong Kong, and Macau.
Splash Corp. is a 70-percent owned company by the Hortaleza family through Splash Holdings Inc. The company has grown into a P4-billion enterprise from its humble P12,000 start-up capital in 1985.
