TAIPEI – Two Taiwanese robbers who were looking for accomplices for a series of heists managed to fill the vacant spots by placing a fake job ad in a local paper, a report said Friday.
The duo picked 2 of the candidates responding to the ad, which sought "salesmen" and "business commissioners," and filled them in about the robberies they had planned, the China Post reported.
The newly formed gang, which targeted landlords and beauty salon owners, was recently arrested and the 4 now face charges of aggravated robbery, the paper said, citing prosecutors in the central city of Taichung.
Prosecutors were not immediately available for comment.
