Relay 101 with the Ateneo Men's Swimming Team
UAAP Season 75 was the grandest season so far for the Ateneo Men's Swimming Team. For the first time, they bagged the championship crown when they defeated rival De La Salle University with 365 points, claiming 11 golds, 6 silvers and 6 bronzes.
They also broke four records in the swim history of the University Athletic Association of the Philippines (UAAP).
From their big wins last season, the team is bent on continuing their swimming supremacy this Season 76.
The members of the swim team are full-time students in one of the country's top universities. Aside from maintaining their grades, they must tread the waters twice a day, five times a week.
The Blue Eagles are relay specialists. They bagged four golds in UAAP's relay events alone, and even clocked a surprising 1 minute and 42.46 seconds in the 4x50 meter freestyle relay, trouncing DLSU's former record in 2010.
Sports Unlimited host Dyan Castillejo visited them during practice and they were all eager to teach her the basics of relay swimming.

After learning Relay 101, the members of the swimming team divided into groups for a contest.
Dyan's team competed against the others for a fun medley challenge.
Team captain Islau Dapat was the first to go with his backstroke. Dyan made sure that she kept in mind what she learned from her team. She dove as soon as Islau hit the wall.
Dyan was tasked to do the breaststroke. After that, Gio Palencia swam the butterfly and Micco Pesueña did the freestyle.
Dyan quickly learned that relay events, although challenging, are so much fun.
All the guys were fast but Dyan's team won the relay race.
