Matanglawin: Deadly animals
What would you do if some of the deadliest animals are living in the same island as you?
Kuya Kim ventures out on one of the most dangerous and daring adventures of his life as he goes head to head with some of the most venomous snakes on both land and sea, snails that can eat goldfish alive and even crocodiles that can only be found in the Philippines.

Ride on the RORO (Roll On, Roll Off) and the next stop is Puerto Galera, Oriental Mindoro. A tourist destination for many, but a haven for daredevils and herpetologists like Mario Lutz.
Lutz may look like your ordinary German national but he’s also called the Reptile Man because of his love for reptiles, especially snakes!
In his so-called lair dubbed Herpaworld, Inc., a conservation and research center, Lutz has been researching venomous snakes like King Cobras and Spitting Cobras to find out how they live, how they eat and how they defend themselves.

Of all the venomous snakes in the world, the King Cobra tops them all because of its large size. To fend off its enemies, it expands its hood as a threat display and if really angered, will deliver a poisoned bite which is enough to kill an elephant. Its scientific name, Ophiophagus hannah, also means “snake-eater” in latin; so other snakes, beware!
Northern and Southern Spitting Cobras can blind a 5-foot man from a distance of 10 feet away. But the danger from snakes isn’t just on land, though, it’s even in the water because of poisonous sea snakes.
If that amazes you, what would you say if Kuya Kim told you that something as small as a cone snail is more poisonous than a King Cobra or that the toxin of a blue-ringed octopus is deadly enough to poison 20 people?
But poison isn’t the only thing with teeth in Mindoro because the island is also the only home to the Philippine crocodile.
