ABS-CBN launches 5 new shows via 'Pinoy True Stories'

MANILA, Philippines -- ABS-CBN is set to revolutionize its afternoon program offerings next week, as it gears up for the premiere telecast of five all-new current affairs shows.

"Pinoy True Stories" premieres Monday (December 3), 4:45 p.m. on ABS-CBN

ABS-CBN News and Current Affairs will launch five new programs beginning Monday (December 3), under the banner program "Pinoy True Stories."

"This program will hunt and punish the offender, help victims, and teach a lesson or two," said ABS-CBN News and Current Affairs head Ging Reyes.

"Through ABS-CBN’s decision to place the new current affairs show on an earlier timeslot, we hope to make citizens better-informed, engage more viewers, and foster a dialogue of significant issues," she added.

Hosted by veteran broadcast journalist Julius Babao, "Bistado Monday" opens the week as it uncovers "cases of abuse, neglect or cruelty, as well as corrupt practices in the government and the various modus operandi of criminals."

"Bandila" anchor Karen Davila, meanwhile, will mediate between clashing parties in relationships and neighborhoods" in "Engkwentro Tuesday." The program seeks to resolve these conflicts and help those involved to reach an agreement.

In "Saklolo Wednesday," news reporters Maan Macapagal and Dominic Almelor will extend the help of ABS-CBN News and Current Affairs to those suffering from accidents, calamities, or maltreatment by others.

On Thursday, "Iba Balita" anchor Anthony Taberna will extent legal help to the public via "Demandahan Thursday." The show aims to help solve problematic dusputes in court.

News reporter Atom Araullo hosts "Hiwaga Friday," which will "unmask the truth behind supernatural occurrences."

"Pinoy True Stories" premieres Monday, 4:45 p.m. after "A Gentleman’s Dignity" on ABS-CBN.
