Ai-Ai delas Alas and her talent manager, “The Buzz” host Boy Abunda, on Sunday refuted accusations that she was being ungrateful after she left Belo Medical Group to endorse its strong competitor, the Calayan Surgicenter.

Delas Alas said she left Belo Medical Group after her contract with the dermatology and cosmetic surgery clinic expired.

She also maintained that she and owner Dr. Vicki Belo remain good friends.

Abunda, for his part, explained that delas Alas’s one-year contract ended in May 2008 and Belo did not show any interest to renew the agreement.

“Hindi totoo ang napapabalitang ang renewal [ng contract] ay automatic. The renewal of the contract is subject to mutual agreement… hindi naman interesado ang Belo Medical Group na i-renew ang iyong (delas Alas) kontrata,” he said.

The Calayan Surgicenter, on the other hand, has shown interest and offered the endorsement to his talent, Abunda added.

Meanwhile, Abunda, who is also an endorser of Calayan Surgicenter, denied that he was handling the clinic’s promotional activities.
