MANILA, Philippines -- Kris Aquino sees a review on her performance in the blockbuster film "Sisterakas" as a "personal attack."

The actress-host branded as a form of "hatred" the published review of J. I. E. Teodoro on the 38th Metro Manila Film Festival entry, saying the film critic is "bitter" in a series of posts on the microblogging site Twitter.

Teodoro is an assistant professor at the Filipino and English departments of Miriam College in Quezon City. His review on "Sisterakas" was published Monday on GMA News Online, which disclaims the "views in [the] article [as] the author's own."

Linking to the review of the comedy flick, Aquino, a talent of GMA's rival ABS-CBN, said on Wednesday, "Simple reply, how sad for him because I’m here to stay [and] will try my best to bug him for many years more!"

The actress-host added, "That’s [why] I want to be around to give him so much more reasons to be bitter- hehehe."

In his review, Teodoro referred to Aquino as "the greatest disgrace" in the Wenn V. Deramas-directed film. "She could not deliver a punch line and her movements were awkward," the review said.

In "Sisterakas," Aquino portrays Roselle, an eccentric "fashionista" bent on bringing the downfall of her company's rival, the Bernice-owned (Vice Ganda) Ponytale apparel brand.

The movie is the leading entry in the list of the 38th MMFF top-grossers, and was awarded Third Best Picture by the film fest.

Referring to events following the election of Aquino's brother, then-senator Benigno Aquino III, as president, Teodoro said in his review, "There was a collective national sigh of relief when Kris announced that she was quitting The Buzz."

"Finally, the country would be freed from the irritating voice of Kris Aquino," the review added. "But of course I was wrong. She quit The Buzz but appeared on other TV shows."

Teodoro saw Ai Ai delas Alas, who co-stars in "Sisterakas," as the film's "saving grace," noting her ability to "move the audience to laugh and cry with her."

The film critic also described Deramas as "capable of directing a great film," but added that "Sisterakas" is not one of them.

The review likewise touched on the film's story, screenplay, production design and cinematography.

As a concluding paragraph, Teodoro's review also offered an "advice" to Aquino -- "I think it is time for her to perform a sacrifice, a heroic act even, of setting the country free from her incompetence as a movie actor."

Responding to the review, Aquino said, "Actually it wasn’t a review, more of a personal attack against me, that’s [why] I am grateful to my audience because [you] negate his view."

In a reply to one of her followers, the actress-host also described the article as "OA (over-acting) na hatred for me."

Another Twitter follower of Aquino addressed the actress-host, saying, "I [love] Kris, but it was a review. It's not [the] duty of [the] writer [to] please [you]. Is this not [the] essence of democracy?"

As a way of ending her response to the review, Aquino said on Twitter that "[there is] peace in my home [and] so much love shared [with] my sons, that’s [why] it’s easier to shrug off the negativity. Dati mapagpatol talaga ko."
