MANILA, Philippines - Singer Sarah Geronimo turned emotional on Thursday as she broke her silence on her failed romance with actor Gerald Anderson.

Geronimo, dubbed as the country's "Pop Star Princess", once again stressed that her parents had nothing to do with the end of their budding romance, reacting to speculations that her mother, Divine, asked Anderson to stop wooing her.

While she did not directly mention Anderson, Geronimo confirmed that she is still hurting because of another failed romance.

She previously had a secret relationship with actor-dancer Rayver Cruz, who decided to move on because he could no longer "wait" for the Kapamilya singer.

Cruz is currently in a relationship with sexy actress Cristine Reyes.

"Totoo 'yung sinabi ni ate Judai (Judy Ann Santos), every heartache nagi-increase 'yung pain level niyan. Totoo pala 'yon," Geronimo said.

Despite his recent falling out with Geronimo, Anderson said in a television interview that the singer remains a special person in his life.

He added that he has no regrets about courting Geronimo.

Not yet ready

Meanwhile, Geronimo said she is not yet ready to fall in love again.

The singer then gave advice to those who want to try to win her heart.

Asked to react to predictions from fortune-tellers that she will get pregnant this year, she said: "This year?

Geronimo is set to start shooting the film "It Takes a Man and a Woman" with John Lloyd Cruz next week.

Her third movie with Cruz tells the story of Laida who broke up with her sweetheart. -- With a report from Mario Dumaual, ABS-CBN News
