MANILA, Philippines – Cosmetic surgeon Hayden Kho on Tuesday afternoon posted a P20,000 bail in connection with the criminal case filed by actress Katrina Halili.

Kho, who is accused of violating Republic Act (RA) 9262, or the Anti-Violence Against Women and Children Act, voluntarily surrendered even before the warrant of arrest could be served on him, said lawyer Raymund Palad, Halili’s legal counsel, in a phone interview.

The warrant was issued by Judge Rodolfo Bonifacio of the Pasig Regional Trial Court Branch 159 after junking Kho's motion for determination of probable cause.

The arraignment is scheduled on Feb. 23, 2010.

“We’re looking forward to the arraignment on Feb 23 at 8:30 a.m. We don’t’ expect the arraignment to be canceled because it has been previously agreed upon,” Palad said.

If proven guilty, the doctor will face up to 12 years of imprisonment, said Palad, who made public Kho's mug shots.

Halili filed the criminal case against Kho after their sex video, which she claimed was taken without her consent, spread in the Internet in 2009.

Halili also asked the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) to revoke Kho’s license. In November 2009, PRC revoked his license, with all 6 board members, headed by Dr. Restituto de Ocampo, signing the resolution.
