Geneva Cruz denies separation, suicide attempt - report
Singer Geneva Cruz has belied persistent rumors about her alleged suicide attempt and the supposed failure of her marriage, show business talk show “The Buzz” reported Sunday.
Quoting a text message sent by Cruz, who is now based in the United States, The Buzz host Ruffa Gutierrez said the singer refuted all the nasty rumors involving her, husband KC Montero and son Heaven.
“Hindi totoo na hiwalay na siya and KC. They’re currently in Seattle at nagpla-play station si Heaven at KC,” Gutierrez said.
Cruz, according to Gutierrez, also invited rumormongers to check her Facebook account where she posted the holiday photos of her family.
As for her alleged suicide attempt, Cruz told Gutierrez that she was in New York when the incident purportedly occurred.
The Buzz had asked Cruz’s permission if the show could interview her over the phone. Cruz, however, declined to be interviewed, saying her husband was opposed to the idea.
Cruz and Montero (Casey Wyatt Miller in real life), a former television host, got married in Seattle in 2004. In 2006, the couple, along with Heaven, migrated to the US.
In April 2007, Cruz went back to the Philippines without her husband and son, triggering speculations that they had split up. Reports also said that she left her son under Montero’s care, which drew the ire of her in-laws.
Heaven is Cruz and former singer Paco Arespacochaga’s son.
Gutierrez, however, said Cruz would sometimes go back to the country alone to do some shows.
Cruz, Gutierrez added, also appealed to her critics to spare her family from intrigues and focus on her career instead.
