MANILA -- Angelica Panganiban hopes that her relationship with fellow Star Magic talent John Lloyd Cruz is the real thing.

At the sidelines of a thanksgiving party held Thursday night for the success of the film "One More Try," the 26-year-old actress commented on speculations and predictions about her relationship with the 29-year-old Kapamilya Star.

"Syempre iba naman 'yung opinyon ng ibang tao sa prediction nila," Panganiban said on Thursday. "Iba rin naman 'yung meron kami, at kami lang naman 'yung makakapagsabi noon -- kung hanggang saan kami."

"Hindi naman maganda na bigyan namin ng limit 'yung kung ano 'yung meron kami. Naniniwala kami na kung ano 'yung meron kami, gusto namin sana ito na talaga," she said.

Panganiban and Cruz became a couple in July last year, but only confirmed their relationship in November. Before Cruz, Panganiban was in a six-year relationship with actor Derek Ramsay.

Cruz and his former girlfriend actress Shaina Magdayao, on the other hand, separated in early 2012.

On Thursday, Panganiban recalled spending the recent holidays by gathering both her and Cruz's family to celebrate.

"Masarap 'yung ganung experience, na parang walang ka-effort effort na close lahat, na close 'yung family ko, close 'yung family niya. Masarap, nakaka-overwhelm, parang nakakagulat na pwede pala 'yung ganun, 'yung ganun kasaya," she said.

Asked if she wishes for anything more in her current relationship, the actress said, "Well, so far, kung anong meron ako ngayon, sana tuluy-tuloy lang siya."

Star Cinema's "One More Try" was the second highest grossing film entry in the recently concluded 38th Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF).
