After 'One More Try,' actor wants comedy comeback

MANILA -- The pressure is on for Zanjoe Marudo to pull off his own "unique" wedding proposal to film co-star and girlfriend Bea Alonzo.

The 30-year-old actor won't confirm if he intends to propose to the 25-year-old Kapamilya star this year, "pero kailangan diyan matagal na plano."

So kailangan may maisip ka talagang kakaiba," he said.

In November last year, showiz couple Zoren Legaspi and Carmina Villaroel made headlines when he pulled of a grand surprise wedding, only moments after he proposed to the actress-host.

Legaspi and Villaroel had already been a couple for 14 years. They also have two children, twins Maverick and Cassandra.

At the sidelines of a thanksgiving party held Thursday night for the success of his latest film "One More Try," Marudo also shared his growing bond with Alonzo's family.

The couple will celebrate their second anniversary together in March.

Meanwhile, coming off the box office success of "One More Try," Marudo is looking forward to returning to comedy this year.

After his 2006 stint as a housemate in the reality series "Pinoy Big Brother," Marudo took on various comedy roles on TV, notably in the sitcoms "Aalog-Alog" and "Parekoy". Currently, he is one of the regular cast members of the weekend gag show "Banana Split".
